The CSM1 is compatible with CR10, 21X, CR7 and DSP4 loggers (with older units possibly requiring a PROM upgrade) and can store data at 9600 baud (binary) or ASCII at 9600 baud, with 76800 baud available in CR10 Burst Mode; program storage and retrieval are also supported for these models. Campbell Scientific previously offered JEIDA 4 PCMCIA cards (CSMC1M) for use with the CSM1, providing 524,160 low‑resolution data points, and notes caution that proper operation is guaranteed only with Campbell‑tested cards. The CSM1 is designed for field, battery-powered applications with low quiescent current and can be swapped between loggers or left in place to collect data across deployments, with data retrieved at the base via the MCR1 reader.
