The Keyence PZ2-42 is a compact, built-in amplifier photoelectric sensor designed for precise detection of both transparent and opaque objects in industrial automation systems. This square-shaped, diffuse-reflective sensor utilizes a red LED light source and achieves a detection distance of up to 100 mm when using a 100 x 100 mm white matte paper target. It features a 1-turn sensitivity adjustment trimmer (240° rotation) and offers selectable LIGHT-ON/DARK-ON operation modes. The sensor is equipped with an NPN output capable of sourcing up to 100 mA, with a residual voltage of 1 V or less. Housed in a glass-fiber reinforced plastic casing, it boasts an IP67 enclosure rating, ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments. With a response time of 1 ms and a current consumption of 35 mA or less, the PZ2-42 is an efficient choice for high-speed detection applications. Please note that this model has been discontinued, and the recommended replacement is the PZ-G42N.
