The 3Com OfficeConnect 8-Port Hub, model 3C16701A (often labeled 8C), is an external Ethernet hub that combines eight 10BASE-T RJ-45 ports with a single 10BASE-2 coax (BNC) port for legacy thin Ethernet, letting you connect both twisted-pair and coax segments in a compact unit. Designed for small offices or labs, it operates at 10 Mbps and can be expanded by daisy-chaining to other hubs using either 10BASE-T or 10BASE-2 connections.
