3M 5551-3-AC Cold Shrink Splice Kit

The 3M 5551-3-AC Cold Shrink Splice Kit is a complete inline splice solution for 3/C shielded armored or non-armored cables, rated for 5 kV and 8 kV operation and supporting copper or aluminum conductors from 6 AWG to 3/0 AWG. Using cold shrink insulation, the kit includes an armor-wrap sheath to reconstitute the cable armor after splicing, and connectors are not included. Each kit contains three complete splices with cold shrink insulators and jackets, Scotch electrode wraps, mastic and semi-conducting tapes, shielding braid sleeves, six constant-force springs, cleaning pads, linerless splicing tape, and instruction sheets. The assembly meets IEEE 404 requirements and is intended for electrical utility and industrial distribution applications where armor integrity and shielded conductor performance are critical.
