ABB 1SDA051403R1 RC221 residual current release for SACE Tmax low-voltage circuit-breakers adds earth-leakage protection to Tmax T2 devices by tripping the breaker when a residual current is detected. The RC221 T2 release is a Type A non-delay residual-current release designed for Tmax T1, T2, and T3 families, with selectable nominal leakage current settings of 0.03 A, 0.1 A, 0.3 A, 0.5 A, 1 A and 3 A and a current rating (In) up to 160 A. Electrical ratings include a rated insulation voltage Ui of 800 V, a rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp of 8 kV, and a rated network voltage Un of 85–500 V AC; the release withstands fault currents up to Icc 50 kA and provides 25% Icc for its residual-current capacity, with Icw 5 kA at 1 s and IΔw 5 kA at 1 s for short-circuit conditions. The device is mounted in the RC release slot of the Tmax assembly and coordinates with the base breaker to provide selective protection against residual currents in industrial and commercial installations.
