ABB EF96-100 Electronic Overload Relay System

ABB EF96-100 Electronic Overload Relay is a self-supplied protection device for three-phase motor circuits within the EF96 family, designed to be paired with ABB EF96 frame contactors (AF80/AF96). It guards a 36–100 A motor by monitoring current and providing a tripping function based on a selectable trip class, configurable to 10, 20 or 30 (10E/20E/30E) to match a motor’s start-up profile. The main circuit supports up to 100 A in AC-3 service, with rated insulation voltage up to 1000 V and main-circuit impulse withstand of 8 kV (auxiliary circuit 6 kV). The relay includes one NC and one NO auxiliary contact, both rated for around 6 A, enabling status signaling to control logic. Its housing is IP20 (main circuit terminals IP10), and it protects all three poles of the connected motor. As a stand-alone, self-contained overload relay, it does not require an external power supply to operate. Optional accessories include a remote reset coil (24–30 V DC, EF19) for remote reset configurations.
