ADVA Optical Networking FTLX6824MCC-AD is a Gen2 DWDM tunable C-band XFP transceiver that delivers 10 Gb/s of multi-protocol data over single-mode fiber, designed for long-haul and metro DWDM deployments. Built on Finisar’s FTLX6824MCC platform, it offers full-band DWDM tunability across the ITU-C band on a 50 GHz grid with tunable steps of 50 pm, allowing precise channel selection within the C-band. The module uses an XFP MSA form factor with an LC duplex connector, includes an APD receiver, and supports multi-rate operation up to about 11.3 Gb/s for 10GBASE-SR/ER-style and related protocols. It specifies a reach of up to 80 km on standard SMF, and operates from a 3.3 V or 5 V supply while functioning in a wide ambient temperature range of approximately -5 to 70 C. This combination of tunable DWDM optics, 80 km reach, and multi-protocol 10G capability makes it suitable for upgrading existing networks to flexible, channel-selectable DWDM transport without replacing adjacent infrastructure. Ideal applications include carrier backhaul, data-center interconnects, and service-provider DWDM rings where channel flexibility and extended reach are required.
