Advanced Micro Controls, Inc. 3204 4-Axis Stepper Module
Description:
The AMCI 3204 is a four-axis motion controller module for Allen-Bradley ControlLogix that plugs into a single rack slot and provides independent, programmable control of up to four stepper drives. Part of AMCI’s 3200-series multi-axis motion controller lineup, the 3204 is designed to work with Rockwell Automation software and is configured within RSLogix 5000 to manage velocity, position, and acceleration profiles across all axes. This ControlLogix-compatible module occupies one chassis slot and integrates with the PLC backplane to deliver deterministic timing and coordinated motion for multiple axes from a single module. Each channel can drive a separate stepper motor, enabling four independent or coordinated axes depending on the motion program, which is ideal for indexing, pick-and-place, conveyor indexing, and automated assembly tasks. The 3204’s legacy documentation describes it as the four-channel variant of AMCI’s stepper controller family for ControlLogix, illustrating AMCI’s long-standing focus on plug-in motion solutions that extend AB PLC capabilities without requiring external servo drives.
