Advantech HMI-640S Human Machine Interface Panel

Advantech HMI-640S is a compact, 6.0-inch STN color LCD industrial operator interface built around a 486-based panel PC. It integrates an on-board VGA display, two serial ports (one RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485), a removable CompactFlash card for the operating system and software, and an external 16-bit PC/104 expansion slot for optional I/O. The unit supports 18–30 VDC input with a 25 W power budget, delivering +5 V at up to 4 A and +12 V at up to 0.5 A. It includes a 10/100 Ethernet interface (RTL8139A controller, NE1000/2000 compatible) and a touchscreen for direct user interaction. Display capabilities include a 6.0" STN color LCD with resolutions of 640x480 at 16M colors, 800x600 at 16M colors, and 1024x768 at 64K colors, aided by 2 MB of embedded display memory. The board carries 16 MB of on-board RAM (EDO) and offers Windows CE turnkey deployment via optional software on the CF card. Typical applications include factory automation, process-control panels, and other industrial HMI tasks requiring rugged 18–30 VDC power, integrated serial/ethernet I/O, and removable software storage.
