Advantech USOPTL4 Isolated USB to RS-422/RS-485 Converter

Advantech USOPTL4 is an isolated USB-to-RS-422/RS-485 converter that adds a single, isolated serial channel to a computer or controller via USB. It is bus-powered from the USB port and provides up to 2000 V RMS optical isolation between the USB host and the RS-422/RS-485 side, helping protect equipment from surges and ground loops. The interface supports RS-422 and RS-485 operation with both 2-wire and 4-wire configurations and data rates up to 921.6 kbps. Features include removable terminal blocks for easy wiring, a high-retention USB connector, and mounting options for DIN rail or panel installation, with the option to ship with a USB cable. Within the USOPTL4 family, higher-port variants are available (BB-USOPTL4-2P and BB-USOPTL4-4P) for additional isolated channels, while the base 1-port USOPTL4DR model provides a single isolated RS-422/RS-485 connection. TX/RX activity indicators aid diagnostics, and the device is compatible with USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 hosts, fitting Advantech’s ULinx line of USB-to-serial converters.
