AS-M4-2ZI Floating Self-Clinching Fasteners are metric M4-thread floating nuts from PEM designed to be pressed into a prepared hole in thin panels to provide a permanent, flush, load-bearing thread. The 2ZI variant belongs to PEM’s A4, AS, AC family and uses the ZI finish; after installation, the sheet remains flush on one side and the fastener is permanently locked in place, while its floating design accommodates mating-hole misalignment up to 0.030 inches, and the retainer helps keep the threads aligned with the panel to minimize wear during assembly. The floating nut’s threads extend fully into the retainer shank, improving seating and load distribution in the panel, a feature that enhances strength in lightweight aluminum or stainless steel sheets.
