The AFL FOCIS Lightning2 LTNG2 Fiber Inspection Probe System is a compact, self-contained inspection probe designed for fast, onsite validation of multi-fiber connectors. It captures and displays the entire MPO end-face in under two seconds, with one-button auto-focus and auto-centering and Pass/Fail analysis at both the connector and individual fiber level, enabling a 24-fiber MPO inspection in less than 15 seconds—capable of handling MPO and MTP bulkheads, including multi-row configurations. The handheld unit stores up to 10,000 connector-level and fiber images, analysis overlays, and zones locally, and can share results via USB or Bluetooth; AFL’s FlexApp app adds cloud reporting options. Powered by a rechargeable battery, it features an integrated 3.5-inch color LCD touchscreen and up to 8x magnification, with adapter tips for MPO and single-fiber connectors and support for IEC, IPC, AT&T auto-analysis. Typical uses include data-center fiber network installation, turn-up, and troubleshooting; inspecting hardened FTTx connectors; verifying cleaning practices; and pairing with OTDR for comprehensive reporting.
