Airpel E9D0.5U Low Friction Pneumatic Cylinder
Airpel E9D0.5U Low Friction Pneumatic Cylinder
Description:
Airpel E9D0.5U Low Friction Air Cylinder is a double-acting pneumatic actuator with a 0.366 in bore and a 0.5 in stroke, designed for compact, precise linear actuation. It uses Airpel’s frictionless air-film technology with a Plexiglas cylinder and a carbon-graphite piston, delivering ultra-low friction and eliminating the need for seals and lubrication, while a stainless steel tube housing provides rugged protection. The unit features a 10-32 mounting thread for easy integration into brackets and fixtures, making it suitable for counterbalancing, tension control, and high-resolution force actuation in metrology or lab automation. Operating pressure spans a broad range from 0.0015 to 0.7 MPa (approximately 0.015–7 bar), enabling smooth motion across varying supply conditions. The Airpel line emphasizes minimal maintenance and low static friction, with typical piston–cylinder friction around 0.2 of load, and is capable of functioning across a wide speed spectrum—from slow drifts to rapid cycling—while tolerating demanding environments (including wide temperature ranges). With its small bore, this cylinder provides precise, repeatable actuation in space-constrained setups where consistent force and stroke are critical.
