Alen 1747-SN Remote I/O Scanner Host
Alen 1747-SN Remote I/O Scanner Host
Description:
The Alen 1747-SN Remote I/O Scanner from Alen is the SLC 500 family’s dedicated interface that enables a single SLC processor to communicate with remotely located I/O racks over the AB Remote I/O link. It is designed to work with SLC 5/02 through 5/05 processors, serving as the remote I/O scanner for those controllers. The network connection uses the classic Remote I/O link (the blue-hose family) to connect to 1746 I/O chassis and other RIO-compatible devices with cables such as 1747-C10 or 1747-C11. In typical configurations, the SLC 500 I/O data table supports up to 4,096 I/O points, with the 1747-SN organizing the remote I/O image into logical racks. The scanner continuously scans and exchanges I/O data over the RIO network, enabling input sampling and output control for remote devices. Common applications include legacy factory automation lines requiring distributed I/O and integration with operator interfaces through the Remote I/O link.
