Allen-Bradley 1719-A22 22-Slot Ex I Base Chassis
Allen-Bradley 1719-A22 22-Slot Ex I Base Chassis
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1719-A22 Ex I/O 22-Slot Base Chassis is a hazardous-location backplane that accepts up to 22 single-width I/O modules (or 11 dual-width modules) from the 1719 Ex I/O family, providing a compact 22-slot base for in-cabinet I/O in Class I Division 2 or Zone 2 environments. It includes three power-supply slots for 18-32 V DC input (SELV/PELV) with a maximum safe voltage of 60 V DC, enabling redundant or separate power rails for reliable operation. Module organization follows five segment banks (slots 1–3, 4–8, 9–13, 14–18, 19–22) to simplify wiring, configuration, and maintenance. The 1719-A22 base chassis is designed to work with extension backplanes such as the 1719-A24 to add more I/O capability beyond 22 slots if needed. Typical applications include process automation in hazardous locations where intrinsic safety is required, such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and other industries that rely on Ex I/O modules for safe monitoring and control of field devices in Zone 2/Class I Division 2 installations.
