Allen-Bradley 1719-TB8SX2 Intrinsically Safe Terminals
Allen-Bradley 1719-TB8SX2 Intrinsically Safe Terminals
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1719-TB8SX2 Intrinsically Safe Terminals are a 2x8-pole spring-terminal block designed for use with Allen-Bradley 1719 Ex I/O distributed I/O modules in hazardous locations. As part of the Ex I/O family, they enable intrinsically safe wiring in Zone 2 or Class I, Division 2 environments and are wired to the Ex I/O backplane. The spring-clamp termination provides a secure, tool-free means to terminate conductors; rigid conductors are supported in the range of 0.14 mm² to 1.5 mm² (26–16 AWG), while variants handling flexible conductors (with ferrules or similar) follow the applicable cross-section ranges published for 1719 Ex I/O terminal blocks. The 2x8 pole configuration yields sixteen termination points, suitable for distributing I/O channels across two parallel rows. For intrinsically safe circuits, blue terminal blocks are used, aligning with installation guidelines that specify blue components for intrinsic safety, and this module is intended to be used with the 1719 Ex I/O backplane in Zone 2/Class I, Div 2 installations. Allen-Bradley 1719-TB8SX2 is part of Rockwell Automation’s rugged Ex I/O platform designed to support safe, field-wiring termination in hazardous environments and is commonly paired with Ex I/O modules in the same family.
