Allen-Bradley 1734-1B8 Sinking Digital Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1734-1B8 Sinking Digital Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1734-1B8 (also listed as 1734-IB8) is an eight-channel, 24 V DC sinking digital input module for POINT I/O distributed I/O. It arrives in an open-style, DIN-mounted form factor designed to snap into a POINT I/O base or backplane and is powered by field-side 24 V DC. Each of the eight inputs is a sinking (NPN) input, so a device that provides +24 V when active and a direct return to ground enables an ON state; ON-state voltage is specified from 10 to 28.8 V DC with an ON-state current of 2 to 5 mA per channel. In the OFF state, the input sees a maximum of 5 V DC and draws at least 1.5 mA to maintain a defined off condition. The module is intended for connection to 24 V DC field devices such as pushbuttons, limit switches, and proximity sensors, interfacing with the POINT I/O network to feed discrete input data to the controller. Field power for the module is 24 V DC, and the standard IB8 family is available in variants such as 1734-IB8K (conformal-coated) and 1734-IB8S (safety) to suit environmental or safety-critical applications. This 8DI sinking module fits common industrial automation setups that require reliable, isolated digital inputs in a compact Point I/O footprint.
