Allen-Bradley 1734-ADN DeviceNet Adapter Module
Allen-Bradley 1734-ADN DeviceNet Adapter Module
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1734-ADN DeviceNet Adapter Module is the DeviceNet interface that connects a DeviceNet master to the POINT I/O backplane inside a 1734 POINT I/O chassis. It is a 24V DC device that requires a separate field-side power supply for the POINT I/O modules while the DeviceNet network handles communication and power for the bus. The adapter provides a single DeviceNet port and supports standard DeviceNet data rates of 125 Kbps, 250 Kbps, and 500 Kbps, making it suitable for distributed automation topologies. On a single DeviceNet node, you can install up to 63 POINT I/O modules, enabling scalable I/O without sacrificing network performance. By bridging DeviceNet to the POINT I/O system, the 1734-ADN allows masters on the DeviceNet network to read and control discrete inputs and outputs mounted on the POINT I/O backplane, aligning with Rockwell Automation’s approach to modular, field-bus I/O. This module is part of the POINT I/O family and is commonly deployed in manufacturing environments requiring reliable, mid-scale DeviceNet I/O distribution.
