Allen-Bradley 1734-ADN Programmable Logic Controller Module
Allen-Bradley 1734-ADN Programmable Logic Controller Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1734-ADN DeviceNet Adapter Module for POINT I/O is the dedicated gateway that links a DeviceNet network to a POINT I/O rack, mounting on the left side of the POINT I/O system to serve as the network interface for the entire module chain. It requires a separate power supply for the POINT I/O side, while the DeviceNet network provides field power to the adapter; it supports DeviceNet communication at 125K, 250K, or 500K bits per second. In a POINT I/O installation, it enables up to 63 modules on the POINTBus and up to 63 powered modules, delivering a total of 504 I/O points across the installed modules. The adapter draws about 30 mA from the DeviceNet side, and the POINTBus can supply up to 1,000 mA at 5 V (±5%). Power consumption for the module is around 8.1 W, with a typical dissipation around 2.8 W at nominal operating conditions. As part of the POINT I/O family, the ADN model functions as the DeviceNet gateway for devices such as sensors and actuators connected over DeviceNet, helping engineers extend distributed I/O with a straightforward adapter that translates DeviceNet data into POINT I/O addressing.
