Description:

Allen-Bradley 1734-ADN DeviceNet Adapter is the POINT I/O communication module that bridges POINT I/O modules to a DeviceNet network. It is powered from a separate 24 V DC DeviceNet power supply and provides the DeviceNet interface for the POINT I/O backplane, while the field power bus delivers 24 V DC power to attached I/O modules. The adapter supports up to 13 POINT I/O modules on the POINTBus and operates at DeviceNet speeds of 125, 250, or 500 kbps; when used in a subnet with ADNX devices, it can participate in DeviceLogix configurations. Electrical specifications include an input range of 10–28.8 V DC, a field power bus current capacity up to 10 A, and a typical field power draw of around several hundred milliamps. The device features 50 V continuous isolation and is designed for enclosure installations, with wiring support for 14–22 AWG copper. This 1734-ADN family device is part of Allen-Bradley POINT I/O and enables reliable device communication for sensors and actuators on a DeviceNet network, simplifying wiring and maintenance for distributed I/O. Rockwell Automation notes that the POINT I/O DeviceNet Network Adaptor is planned for discontinuation after December 31, 2026, a consideration for planning upgrades in legacy systems.
