The Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8 is an eight-channel 24V DC input module for the POINT I/O family, designed to convert field signals into PLC-readable states for Rockwell Automation architectures. This sinking input module provides eight digital inputs that accept 24V DC nominal signals in a 10–28.8V DC range. Each channel requires an on-state voltage of at least 10V and current of 2 mA minimum, 4 mA nominal, up to 5 mA maximum, with an input impedance around 4.7 kΩ maximum (3.6 kΩ nominal). Total current drawn from the POINTBUS is up to 75 mA at 5V. The module dissipates up to 1.6 W (at 28.8V) and up to 5.5 BTU/hr, and provides 50V continuous isolation with a dielectric withstand rating of 2500V DC for 60 seconds. It's designed for use with a 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base and measures about 56 mm high, 12 mm wide, and 75.5 mm long (2.2 x 0.47 x 2.97 in). The field power supply is 24V DC nominal with a supply range of 10–28.8V DC, making it suitable for connecting common industrial sensors and switches in applications such as conveyors, packaging lines, and other factory automation tasks that require robust, isolated digital inputs.
