Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8 Sinking 8-Channel Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8 Sinking 8-Channel Input Module
Description:
The Allen‑Bradley 1734-IB8 is a POINT I/O digital input module that provides eight 24 V DC sinking inputs for remote sensing on a POINT I/O network. Designed to mount on a 1734 terminal base (TB or TBS) and connect through the POINTBus, this eight‑channel module accepts eight independent 24 V DC signals (sinking type) with a nominal supply of 24 V DC and a range of 10–28.8 V DC. Per‑channel input impedance is about 4.7 kΩ, with an ON‑state current of 4–5 mA at 24 V (5 mA maximum) and a hardware input filter of 0.5 ms plus a user‑selectable OFF/ON delay of 0–63 ms. The module draws up to 75 mA from the POINTBus and dissipates roughly 1.6 W, while offering 50 V continuous isolation (tested to withstand 2.5 kV DC for 60 s). Physical dimensions are 56 mm high × 12 mm wide × 75.5 mm long (about 2.2 in × 0.47 in × 2.97 in); it carries an IP20 rating and is intended for DIN‑rail mounting in 1734 chassis. As part of the POINT I/O family, the 1734‑IB8 slides into 1734‑TB or 1734‑TBS bases and communicates over POINTBus, mapping into Studio 5000 for straightforward integration with CompactLogix and ControlLogix systems; typical applications include reading eight discrete sensors such as pushbuttons, limit switches, and proximity sensors in industrial automation.
