The Allen-Bradley 1734-OB4 is a POINT I/O 4-channel digital output module that provides four 24 V DC sourcing outputs on a single POINT I/O backplane, enabling compact control of low-power loads in modular automation installations. Each channel can source current to a load from the backplane power, with a per-channel rating of 1.0 A and a module total limit of 3.0 A, making it suitable for energizing solenoids, relay coils, or indicator devices in distributed control architectures. The module operates with an ON-state voltage range of 10 to 28.8 V (nominal 24 V) and a maximum ON-state voltage drop of 0.2 V, while OFF-state leakage is limited to 0.5 mA, helping to minimize unwanted energization. Response times are fast, with a maximum 0.1 ms delay for switching between OFF and ON states, and a similar 0.1 ms for the reverse transition. To handle brief surge demand, the OB4 supports a surge current of up to 2 A for 10 ms (repeatable every few seconds, per the backplane’s protection profile). Wiring is arranged with four outputs (0–3) and corresponding Common/Supply terminals on the module, allowing straightforward field connections for common return and supply lines.
