Allen-Bradley 1734-OB8 Eight Channel DC Output Module

The Allen-Bradley 1734-OB8 is an eight-channel 24V DC source output module for Rockwell Automation’s POINT I/O family, designed to mount in a POINT I/O chassis and be powered from the field supply via the POINTBus backplane and a field power source.

Each of the eight output channels sources up to 0.5 A at 24 VDC to drive loads such as relays, solenoids, or indicator devices; a dedicated Common terminal allows daisychaining from a POINT I/O adapter, the 1734-EP24DC power module, or an external terminal block.

The OB8 family (including the OB8E variant) shares compatibility with the POINT I/O backplane, with OB8E providing per-channel electronic protection to help guard against short circuits.

Typical use includes distributed automation in space-constrained panels where 24V DC control signals must drive actuators or indicators; it integrates with Studio 5000 Logix Designer for tag-based I/O configuration and mapping within a Rockwell Automation ecosystem.
