Allen-Bradley 1734-PDN Point IO Digital Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1734-PDN Point IO Digital Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1734-PDN is a POINT I/O DeviceNet interface module that acts as the gateway between a DeviceNet network and a POINT I/O chassis, enabling seamless integration of digital input and output modules within a DeviceNet-enabled control system. It supports up to 136 I/O points across a POINT I/O installation and provides the DeviceNet power and data transport to the POINT I/O rack, with DeviceNet power requirements of 24V DC (+4% = 25V DC max) at up to 400 mA. The module supports DeviceNet communications at 125K baud (up to 500 m cable length), 250K baud (up to 250 m), or 500K baud (up to 100 m), making it adaptable for both short and longer network deployments. When used as the POINT I/O interface, it is commonly paired with compatible 1734 digital input and output modules to collect signals from field devices or distribute signals to actuators across the network, simplifying wiring, diagnostics, and maintenance in manufacturing environments. For installation, the 1734-PDN is designed as the starter module in a POINT I/O network, typically mounted on the left side of the POINT I/O system, and it coordinates communications and power distribution for the connected modules.
