Allen-Bradley 1738-IB8M12 ArmorPoint 24VDC 8-sink input module with M12 termination is an eight-channel digital input block designed for on-machine distributed I/O. It accepts eight sinking inputs (source-load) and uses four DC Micro (M12) field-term connectors, with two input points per connector, to simplify wiring. The module’s nominal on-state voltage is 24 V DC and it supports a supply range of 10–28.8 V DC, making it compatible with standard 24 V control circuits. Each input draws 2–5 mA when active, while the module can supply up to 75 mA on the PointBus, with a maximum power dissipation of 1.6 W at 28.8 V. Input switching delay is specified as 0.5 ms hardware, plus a selectable on-to-off delay in the 0–65 ms range, supporting stable sampling in environments with transients. The 1738-IB8M12 is part of the ArmorPoint distributed I/O family and is intended for interfacing field sensors such as limit switches and proximity sensors to Rockwell Automation control systems via the ArmorPoint network, delivering compact, reliable 24 V DC inputs in a rugged industrial chassis.
