Allen-Bradley 1746-0A16 Output Module SLC 500
Allen-Bradley 1746-0A16 Output Module SLC 500
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1746-OA16 is a 16-channel AC output module for SLC 500 controllers, using triac outputs to switch 240 VAC loads, and is designed for reliable, discrete control of line-voltage devices from a single processor. Each channel is rated for 500 mA, with a per-module continuous current rating of up to 8 A at 30 °C (86 °F) and 4 A at 60 °C (140 °F), allowing multiple outputs to operate concurrently within safe thermal limits. As a Series A 1746-OA16, it mounts in a 1746 backplane on an SLC 500 rack, providing independent, isolated outputs to switch line-voltage devices, and it integrates with standard SLC 500 wiring practices. This module is designed to drive AC devices such as relays, heaters, or other line-voltage loads in industrial automation where robust, discrete control is required, and it is commonly paired with compatible processors in Rockwell's SLC 500 ecosystem. Physically, it's intended to be installed with other 1746 modules in the same rack, sharing a common backplane to receive power and data from the processor, enabling scalable control of multiple loads from a single controller.
