Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS SLC 500 Basic Module Series B
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS SLC 500 Basic Module Series B is a single-slot BASIC language module for the SLC 500 family that runs user-created BASIC programs inside the controller backplane. It occupies a single slot in an SLC 500 rack and provides its own battery-backed RAM, offering 24 KB of nonvolatile memory to store the BASIC program and related data. The module includes multiple serial communication ports supporting RS-232/422/423 and DH-485 protocols, enabling simple PC programming, terminal access, and DH-485 networked communication with other devices. Programs are authored and downloaded using the 1747-PBASE BASIC development software. An optional memory module can supplement the onboard RAM where larger programs or data sets are required. This BASIC module is typically used to implement small, self-contained control logic, data logging, simple communications tasks, or lightweight device interfacing within an SLC 500 system, without needing a separate CPU or PLC programming environment.
