Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS SLC 500 Series Base Module
Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS SLC 500 Series Base Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS is a SLC 500 BASIC language module that mounts in a single backplane slot in an SLC 500 rack to execute user-written BASIC programs. It provides two serial communication ports (PRT1 and PRT2) for RS-232 or DH485 networks, enabling straightforward data exchange with other controllers and devices on the same network. A dedicated socket accepts a standard 1747 memory module (1747-M1, M2, M3, or M4) for nonvolatile storage of the BASIC program, and programs are created and loaded with the 1747-PBASE BASIC development software. As part of the SLC 500 family, the 1746-BAS is designed to work alongside other I/O modules in the rack to deliver compact, autonomous control logic at the edge of the automation system. This module is well-suited for simple automation routines, lightweight data handling, and quick deployment of small control tasks within legacy Rockwell installations.
