Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE USNT High Speed Counter Module
Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE USNT High Speed Counter Module
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE High Speed Counter Module is a single-slot, SLC 500 backplane I/O device that accepts one count input (5 V, 12 V, or 24 V DC) and provides four configurable outputs (5 V, 12 V, or 24 V DC) via the 1746-RT25G connection. It is designed for fast pulse counting and supports three operating modes with distinct timing: Sequencer mode updates in about 1.8 ms, Range mode in about 3.9 ms, and Rate mode in around 70 ms plus a rate period; the maximum input frequency varies by mode (50 kHz for Range and Sequencer, 32 kHz for Rate). The module occupies one slot on the 1746 backplane and draws up to 32 mA from the 5 V backplane supply. Typical applications include encoder pulse counting for motion or conveyor systems where high-speed, precise counting is essential, and it integrates with other 1746 I/O in legacy SLC 500 installations. The 1746-HSCE is intended for use within the SLC 500 family and aligns with established Allen-Bradley tooling and configuration workflows for high-speed counting tasks.
