The Allen-Bradley 1746-IA16 is a 16-channel digital input module for the SLC 500 family that reads discrete AC signals from field devices. It is rated for 85-132 VAC operation at 47-63 Hz and provides 16 input points with a common terminal for wiring standard AC sensors, pushbuttons, and limit switches to an SLC 500 controller. The module plugs into a 1746 backplane in an SLC 500 rack and reports the status of each input to compatible Rockwell CPUs for real-time logic. Typical applications include machine automation on small to mid-size lines, packaging and production conveyors, and plant floor sensors where AC inputs are required.
