Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 SLC 500 32-Channel Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 SLC 500 32-Channel Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 is a SLC 500 32-channel DC input module (sinking) that mounts to a 1746 backplane to read 32 discrete digital inputs from field devices such as pushbuttons, limit switches, and proximity sensors. Inputs are organized in eight-point groups per common, providing four common terminals for wiring efficiency. It operates on a 15–30 V DC range (specified at 50 °C) or 15–26.4 V DC at 60 °C, drawing about 5.1 mA per channel at 24 V and roughly 50 mA from the backplane. Signal response delays are up to 3 ms for both on and off transitions, with a maximum off-state input voltage of 5.0 V DC. As a member of the SLC 500 family, it connects through the standard 1746 backplane to feed ladder logic in automation systems. Note that Rockwell Automation discontinued the 1746-IB32 as of November 24, 2022, so current availability is typically limited to existing stock or secondary markets.
