Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 SLC 500 32 Point Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 SLC 500 32 Point Input Module
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 is a 32-point DC input module for the SLC 500 family that provides 32 discrete 24V DC sinking inputs in a single 1-slot module. It accepts a supply range of 15–30 V DC and presents the input status across two adjacent 16‑bit words, covering the full 32 channels. Backplane current draw is about 103 mA, with a typical input-to-backplane signal delay of 3 ms and an off-state current around 1 mA. Field wiring is wired through 1746-HT or 1746-HCA terminal connections, and many installations use 1492-series terminal blocks to aid isolation of field wiring. This module is designed for general-purpose digital input signals such as sensors, limit switches, and other 24V devices in industrial controls and is part of the SLC 500 I/O ecosystem. As part of its lifecycle, Rockwell Automation discontinued the 1746-IB32 as of November 24, 2022, meaning it is no longer sold new by the manufacturer, though it remains in use in legacy systems.
