Allen-Bradley 1746-IM16 Analog Input Module 16-Channel

Allen-Bradley 1746-IM16 is a SLC 500 16-channel AC input module that provides sixteen discrete 170–265 VAC input points for use in an SLC 500 I/O rack. It accepts 170–265 VAC inputs at 47–63 Hz across 16 isolated channels and wires to the controller through a removable terminal block (RTB). Each channel draws a nominal 12 mA at 120 VAC, with an inrush current of up to 0.8 A lasting up to 0.5 ms; off-state voltage is limited to 30 V and off-state current to 2 mA. The module offers channel-to-channel isolation and has approximate input-to-output timing: ON delay about 35 ms and OFF delay about 45 ms. Common applications include reading AC-operated sensors and line-powered switches in manufacturing lines, door interlocks, motor-start circuits, and other high-voltage input scenarios, expanding a PLC’s input footprint with sixteen independent channels in a single module designed for the SLC-500 ecosystem.
