Allen-Bradley 1746-ITV16 is a 16-channel fast-response DC sourcing input module designed for the SLC 500 family. It accepts 10–30 V DC input signals and presents each channel’s binary state to the backplane for the CPU to read, enabling rapid, real-time monitoring of field devices like pushbuttons, limit switches, proximity sensors, and other DC sensors. As a sourcing input card, ITV16 provides positive DC inputs (24 V nominal in most industrial configurations) and fits into a 1746 I/O chassis on the SLC 500 rack, communicating over the standard 1746 backplane bus. The module’s 16 discrete inputs are processed with fast timing to minimize latency between field events and controller response, making it suitable for applications requiring quick state changes such as conveyor stops, safety interlocks, and machine sequencing. Typical deployments include panel assemblies and automation lines where mixed discrete inputs from remote sensors are common, and where a scalable, compatible option to the existing 1746 input modules is desired.
