Allen-Bradley 1746-IV16
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1746-IV16 is a 16-point digital input module for the SLC 500 family that accepts 24 V DC input signals from field devices using source-type wiring. Each of its 16 inputs is rated for 10–30 V DC operation and wired to a standard 1746 backplane, drawing about 85 mA from the backplane’s 5 V rail to power its electronics. When an input is energized, the corresponding backplane line is asserted with a typical signal delay of 8 milliseconds, while the off-state current is specified around 1 mA per channel. This discrete input module expands the digital I/O of SLC 500 controllers, making it suitable for sensing tasks such as pushbuttons, limit switches, and proximity sensors in industrial automation panels and machines. As part of the 1746 I/O family, it integrates with Rockwell Automation software and can be combined with other 1746-series modules in the same chassis to build scalable control interfaces for 24 V DC control circuits.
