The Allen-Bradley 1746-IV16 is a 16-channel digital input module for the SLC 500 system that provides current-sourcing (source) DC inputs. Each of its 16 inputs accepts 10–30 V DC and is suitable for general-purpose digital sensing with 24 V DC field devices, wiring into a Rockwell Automation SLC 500 backplane. The module draws 85 mA from the backplane at 5 V, with an approximate 8 ms signal delay and an off-state current of 1 mA per input. As a genuine SLC 500 I/O option, the 1746-IV16 enables reliable monitoring of sensors and switches in automation projects requiring 16-point DC input capability.
