Allen-Bradley 1746-OA8 SLC 500 Digital Output Module

The Allen-Bradley 1746-OA8 is an eight-point AC output module for the SLC 500 controller, designed to switch eight independent line-voltage loads from a Rockwell Automation control system. Each channel provides an AC output in the 85–265 VAC range (commonly used 120/240 VAC) and is rated for up to 1.0 A continuous per output at 30°C (0.5 A per output at 60°C), with a module-wide maximum of 8 A at 30°C (4 A at 60°C). The module draws roughly 185 mA from the 5 V backplane and is designed to plug into a standard 1746 backplane in an SLC 500 rack. This eight-channel module is suitable for general-purpose AC loads such as relays, solenoids, contactors, lighting, and other line-voltage devices in automation cells, conveyors, and packaging lines. The OA8 is part of the SLC 500 I/O family and is often paired with OA16 or OAP12 variants for higher-current or higher-density applications.
