Description:
Allen-Bradley 1746-OB16E is a 16-point DC output module for the SLC 500 family that provides isolated, electronically protected DC sourcing outputs. Designed to energize 24V DC field devices, it accepts a 10–30V DC source and delivers current to 16 outputs through a 1746 backplane in a compatible SLC 500 chassis. The “E” designation identifies it as electronically protected, with per-point protection against short circuits and overloads to help safeguard the module and controller system. Each of the 16 outputs is rated for up to 1.0 A at 30°C (86°F), with a derating to 0.5 A at 60°C (140°F), making it suitable for driving coils on relays, small solenoids, and pilot lamps without external protection circuitry. The OB16E is a sourcing module, meaning its outputs source current to the connected loads from the 24V DC supply, and its channels are individually isolated from one another to minimize fault propagation.
