Allen-Bradley 1746-OB32 SLC 500 Output Module

The Allen-Bradley 1746-OB32 is a 32-point DC-output module for the SLC 500 family that provides sourcing outputs in the 5–50 V DC range. It is designed to install in a 1746 backplane within an SLC 500 rack, delivering 32 individually addressable outputs with LED indicators on each channel to show on/off status. Each output can source up to 0.5 A, for a total module current capability of 8 A, with backplane current draw around 190 mA at 5 V. Typical timing is about 60 ms turn-on and 2.5 ms turn-off, enabling reliable switching of fast-relay coils, solenoids, indicators, and other DC loads in automation tasks. Typical applications include controlling relays, solenoids, indicators, and other DC actuators where 24 V DC control is standard. Although part of an older platform, the 1746-OB32 remains a density-optimized solution for retrofitting legacy SLC 500 systems that require 32 DC outputs in a single slot footprint, and it integrates with 1746-series racks using standard SLC 500 wiring practices.
