Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1746-OV32 is a 32-point DC output module for the SLC 500 family that provides transistor-based current sinking outputs. Each of the 32 outputs can switch DC loads within a 5 to 50 V range, with 24 V DC commonly used in industrial automation applications. The module is designed for SLC 500 systems in an open-style 1746 chassis and integrates into the standard SLC I/O backplane, preserving Allen‑Bradley’s familiar wiring and addressing conventions. The VDC and DC COM pins are organized into two isolated groups, allowing separate load wiring and common returns for different load sets. This configuration is well-suited to high-density control of DC actuators such as relays, solenoids, and indicator devices controlled by a 1746 PLC, without requiring additional interface modules. Loads are wired to a positive DC supply and switched by the OV32 outputs, which provide the sink path to the common return when an output is activated.
