The Allen-Bradley 1746-OW16 is a 16-point relay output module for the SLC 500 family, providing two banks of eight normally-open relay contacts in a 1746 backplane chassis. It accepts an operating voltage range of 5–265 VAC or 5–125 VDC and can switch up to 1.5 A per output at 120 VAC or 1.2 A per output at 24 VDC. The module draws about 170–180 mA from the backplane. Its documented step response is 60 ms to energize a relay coil and 2.5 ms to release, making it suitable for discrete control tasks in older SLC 500 installations.
