Allen-Bradley 1746-OW8 SLC 500 8-Point Output Module
Allen-Bradley 1746-OW8 SLC 500 8-Point Output Module
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1746-OW8 is an eight-channel relay output module for the SLC 500 PLC family. It slides into a 1746 backplane in an SLC 500 rack and presents eight discrete relay contacts that switch external circuits under control of the CPU. The module is designed to drive AC or DC loads and is commonly used to energize motors, lamps, solenoids, valves, and other field devices from a Rockwell RSLogix 500 programming environment. By providing galvanic isolation between the controller and the load circuits, it helps protect the processor from fault conditions while allowing independent power for the controlled loads. As a member of the 1746 I/O family, the 1746-OW8 follows the standard SLC addressing scheme and integrates with the rest of the system through the 1746 backplane bus. This eight-point relay module enables compact, centralized control of multiple devices from a single ladder logic program, reducing wiring complexity on small to mid-size automation projects. For exact electrical characteristics — including the relay contact form, load voltage and current limits per point, and any model-specific variant options — consult the official Rockwell Automation 1746-OW8 data sheet and product page.
