Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1746-P1 is a SLC 500 power-supply module that mounts in an AB SLC 500 rack to provide the required DC rails for the processor and I/O modules. It accepts 85–132 VAC or 170–265 VAC input at 47–63 Hz and delivers regulated 5 V DC and 24 V DC power to the backplane, supporting up to 2 A on the 5 V rail and up to 0.46 A on the 24 V rail. This internal current rating defines the module’s capability to power the typical SLC 500 CPU and associated I/O circuitry within the rack. The P1 variant is one of several 1746-Px power-supply options designed for the SLC 500 family and is intended for use in standard 1746 backplane architectures where a rack-mounted supply sustains the controller and connected I/O modules. When integrated into a compatible 1746 rack, the 1746-P1 helps ensure stable voltages for PLC logic, timers, counters, and discrete I/O functionality, supporting reliable legacy industrial automation tasks.
