Allen-Bradley 1747-AENTR EtherNet/IP Communication Adapter
Allen-Bradley 1747-AENTR EtherNet/IP Communication Adapter
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1747-AENTR EtherNet/IP Communication Adapter is a dual RJ45 Ethernet/IP interface for Rockwell Automation’s SLC 500 family that mounts in slot 0 of the SLC chassis to link I/O racks to an Ethernet network. It provides two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports (RJ-45) with auto-negotiation, enabling direct EtherNet/IP communication between the SLC 500 controller and networked devices such as HMIs, SCADA systems, or other controllers. The module is powered from the chassis 5 V DC supply and draws typically 470–500 mA from the backplane, corresponding to roughly 2–3 W of heat dissipation. With the 1747-AENTR, you can extend SLC 500 I/O over Ethernet, facilitating remote I/O access, centralized data collection, and simpler integration of legacy automation with modern Ethernet networks; the adapter uses standard Category 5 Ethernet cabling. This makes it a common choice when upgrading older SLC 500 installations to Ethernet/IP without replacing the entire I/O backbone.
