Allen-Bradley 1747-AIC DH-485 Link Coupler

The Allen-Bradley 1747-AIC is an isolated DH-485 link coupler that bridges SLC 500 controllers to a DH-485 network, providing electrical isolation between the processor and the network. It is powered from a 24 V DC supply and typically draws about 85 mA; power is brought in via a 6-pin AMP terminal block while the DH-485 interface uses an RJ-45 connector. In normal operation, it sits between the SLC 500 processor and the DH-485 network to enable token-passing communication on the DH-485 bus and to host peripherals on the same network. Rockwell Automation lists the 1747-AIC as discontinued as of January 31, 2017, making it a legacy solution that should be sourced from surplus or distributors if needed.
