Allen-Bradley 1747-AIC SLC 500 DH-485 Link Coupler

Allen-Bradley 1747-AIC is an isolated DH-485 Link Coupler for the SLC 500 family that bridges SLC 500 controllers and devices to a DH-485 network while providing galvanic isolation between the controller side and the DH-485 bus. This module, part of the SLC 500 Modular Hardware Style lineup, mounts in the backplane to form the DH-485 link between the processor and DH-485 peripherals. The 1747-AIC supports external power options to energize the coupler and any connected devices; technical documentation describes three external power configurations, including use of a 24 V DC supply. Rockwell Automation discontinued the 1747-AIC as of January 31, 2017, and it is no longer available for sale from the manufacturer. Despite its age, the 1747-AIC remains in use in legacy SLC 500 installations to enable programming and data exchange with DH-485 devices such as HMIs, remote I/O, and other DH-485-enabled peripherals on the same network.
