Allen-Bradley 1747-ASB SLC Remote IO Adapter Module
Allen-Bradley 1747-ASB SLC Remote IO Adapter Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1747-ASB Remote I/O Adapter Module is a single-slot RIO communication link device for SLC 500 systems that occupies slot 0 of a 1746 remote chassis and acts as the gateway between the local scanner/processor and the I/O modules in remote chassis, with remote expansion support available. It maps the image of the remote I/O modules directly into the SLC/PLC processor image, so outputs from the local scanner are transmitted across the RIO link to remote backplanes and inputs from remote I/O are returned to the scanner, without requiring any user programming of the adapter. Verified specs include compatibility with all SLC 5/01 I/O modules (class 0 and 1), operation over the RIO link at 57.6K, 115.2K, or 230.4K baud, support for up to 30 remote expansion slots, and image sizes from 2 to 32 logical groups, with addressing options of 2-slot, 1-slot, or 1/2-slot, and a maximum remote distance of up to 3,040 meters (10,000 feet). It supports discrete and block data transfers and is designed for use with SLC 500 controllers to enable distributed I/O without additional adapter programming.
