Allen-Bradley 1747-SDN Digital Input Output Module
Allen-Bradley 1747-SDN Digital Input Output Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1747-SDN DeviceNet scanner module is designed for SLC 500 controllers, serving as the bridge between the SLC processor and DeviceNet I/O networks, and it can manage up to 63 DeviceNet-compatible devices on a single network. It communicates with the host processor via M1 (input) and M0 (output) files and supports mapping of discrete I/O into the processor’s data image, with configuration available through RSLogix 500 and RSNetWorx as described in the device manual. In standard RSLogix 500 configurations, the 1747-SDN presents a fixed I/O image of 16 input words and 16 output words (32 words total) to the controller, though data organization can be adjusted in the I/O table by project settings. Power and electrical requirements specify a 5-24 VDC supply with current draw typically in the 90–500 mA range, and the module operates on DeviceNet networks that provide 24 V nominal field power. The 1747-SDN is part of Allen-Bradley’s SLC family DeviceNet support, with catalog variants such as 1747-SDN/D listed in distributor catalogs; it is commonly used with SLC 5/02 or higher processors.
