Allen-Bradley 1747-SN SLC 500 Remote I/O Scanner Module is the SLC 500 family’s Remote I/O scanner that ties a central CPU to remote I/O racks over a twinax-based RIO network, mapping data into the processor’s M0 and M1 files for discrete I/O. The module operates from 5 V DC and draws up to 600 mA (FRN 1.0b). It supports four logical racks of discrete data on the RIO link and includes a 1/2-watt terminating resistor that must be placed across line 1 and line 2 at each end of the chain. As of March 31, 2024, Rockwell Automation discontinued the 1747-SN, so current deployment should plan for a migration path to supported Remote I/O solutions.
